Since the next day is the final day you embark on the Kailash journey, this day is perfect for final preparation for the trip. You can buy last-minute items for the tour. You’re Tibetan visa will be ready by 2 pm and in the evening we’ll have a short tour meeting.

The Kailash Mansarovar tour begins with a scenic drive to the Nepal-Tibet border. After completing the immigration formalities, you drive to Kerung, a lovely town in Tibet with a Tibetan Guide.

Another alternative is to take a helicopter straight from Kathmandu to Kerung. We arrange this at additional costs.

Continuing our journey, we drive to Saga Town which is 6 hours of scenic drive. Along the way, you’ll be treated to breathtaking mountain views and serene lakes.

Today we have a long drive but very rewarding as we reach the most awaited destination,” Lake Mansarovar.” Spend the evening by the lake. Do not dip in the lake or take a bath because altitude sickness might affect you. Give your body time to acclimatize.

Enjoy a beautiful morning with the serene views of the lake Manasarover and Mount Kailash’s south face. Take a bath with the holy water from the lake, meditate, or perform rituals. You will have enough time for Puja and Hawan Then, we drive to Darchen, the starting point of Kailash Parikrama. Here, we prepare for our Kailash Kora, a three-day trek around Mount Kailash.

Today marks the first day of the three-day trek around Mount Kailash. We drive about 10 KM up to Yamdwar ( Yamdwar is know as The gateaway of the God of Death) then We trek for  6 hours with amazing views of the sacred Mount Kailash’s south, west, and North faces.

Today’s trek will definitely test your strength and endurance as you pass the highest point of the trek,  Dolma La Pass at 5646 meters. While the hike is tough, the view at the top makes it worthwhile. Then, you descend to Zuthulpuk valley.

The three-hour walk back to Darchen marks the end of Kailash Parikrama. From Darchen, it’s a scenic drive back to Saga Town.

Which is the best month to visit Kailash Mansarovar?

Kailash is open for seven months a year from April to mid-October. During these months, the best months to visit this sacred place are May to June or September to October.

Can a normal person go to Kailash Mansarovar?

Yes, a normal person can go to Kailash Mansarovar. However, he/she should be fit and below the age of 80. People who are 80+ aren't granted permits.

In Derapuk, you’ll stay at Xisapangma Guest House. Here you have a group sharing accommodation.

In Zutulpuk, you’ll stay at the New Guest house. It also has group sharing accommodations which are the best available in Zutulpuk.

As for the meals, you’ll have various options but not too fancy. Also, our kitchen team will provide fresh-cooked meals.

FAQs

The first document you require is a valid passport and Chinese entry visa to enter from China and travel to Tibet. You will require a scanned copy of your passport and visa that need to send travel agent to process your Kailash entry permit. If you enter Kailash, send just your passport scan copy and require your original passport in Kathmandu to prepare final visa but entering from Kathmandu to Kailash does not need Chinese visa in your passport. Please consult with your travel agent about how many working days they need in the preparation of Kailash permit and before how many days you should land at Nepal with your original passport. Rules of this may change frequently.  

Traveling to Tibet without agency is strictly prohibited and applying for a Tibet visa on your own is not possible due to China’s tourism policies. Therefore, it is required to process your visa and documents via travel agency and enter Tibet with the agency and their guide.

Lunch and dinner in the trip cost is not including ( its depend on your requirement of the facilities). All the foods can buy from local restaurants. Only very simple restaurants are available in Lake Manasarovar, Derapuk and Zuthulpuk. Rest of the places has Chinese and Tibetan style good restaurants. There are plenty of shops to buy drinks and other.
